What is PRP?
PRP, also known as Platelet-Rich Plasma, is a non-surgical treatment, using your own platelets to secrete growth factors and enhance the natural healing process of the skin and hair follicles.
PRP is a safe treatment because it uses platelets that are derived from a sample of your own blood. It is freshly prepared each time and the blood sample required is small, like that usually taken for a standard blood test with your GP.
How does Platelet-rich-plasma (PRP) treatment work?
PRP treatments utilize your body’s natural growth factors which help to stimulate collagen and elastin production in the areas they are injected to improve one’s own complexion.
PRR injection is a cutting-edge treatment that utilizes the healing power of your own blood to promote tissue regeneration and alleviate pain. The procedure begins by drawing a small amount of blood from the patient. The blood is then placed in a centrifuge, which separates the platelets from the other blood cells. The concentrated platelet-rich plasma is then injected into the affected area.
This procedure can be done on any part of the body for younger, fuller, tighter skin. PRP can also be used for hair restoration, if you have hair loss, thinning or similar concerns.
What conditions can PRP treat?
- Fine Lines and Wrinkles
- Under eyes/Dark circles
- Acne and other Scarring
- Sun Damage
- Hair Loss
PRP for skin rejuvenation
PRP facial rejuvenation, also called Vampire Facials. PRP Facial treatments are relied on to rejuvenate their skin and erase signs of aging like lines, wrinkles, creases, and folds of skin. PRP can be used as an injectable treatment for scarring, stretch marks, and skin texture. PRP therapy has the effect of restoring the layer of collagen and elastin under the skin so that it is more effective in supporting suppleness (firmer, plumper skin tone).
Depending on your concerns, our Nurse injector may choose to administer the PRP injection into the lines and problem areas. Alternatively, they may combine the treatment with micro-needling. By using a micro-needling-pen, they create minute pores and massage the PRP serum into the skin so that it regains its youthful glow.
Under Eye PRP
PRP therapy works to naturally restore under-eye volume loss through the stimulation of native collagen and elastin. This treatment requires minimal downtime and helps to correct under-eye hollows and discoloration.
PRP for hair restoration
PRP therapy as a proactive therapeutic option for male and female patients experiencing hair loss. PRP is an exciting non-surgical therapeutic option for patients who require stimulation of hair growth for hair loss conditions such as balding. Doctors use a PRP serum that they formulate from the blood of every individual patient.
We inject this serum into the scalp so that the hair grows back thicker and stronger with a better shine, lustre, and richer colouring. The PRP serum contains a concentration of growth factors, mesenchymal stem cell, cytokines, and other elements.
